Are we in hell, and not know it?

If you think about it, people die a lot, and there are a lot of famine, and a lot of pain in the world, wars, and a lot of mother nature disaster bull **** going on, is it possible that we are in hell and not even know it? Because there seems to be hardly any mericles now a days. Stephen Hawking said heaven is not real. He is just a guy who has no faith.
