Fish Question???? need answers!!!!?

Me and my sister went to the lake/large pond and we saw these little tiny fishies...... they were really small they look like minnows but i dont hink they are.... when i got home i put them in this freshwater tank, and they look really happy after being in that dirty lake, but i diont know what to feed them?????? What are they?????
