How come my xbox 360 won't play normal xbox games even when updated with the current update?

My 360 will not play Tony Hawks Underground even though I know it is backwards compatible. When it loads it says it does not have the update. Even though I just updated with the current update. My 360 even has a harddrive even more of a reason why I am dumbfounded.
